LGBT* Center

Mentee Application

Posted on Friday, April 21st, 2017

Welcome to UNI! We're so glad you chose to be part of our community. The UNI LGBT* Center offers a mentoring program for incoming or transitioning students who are looking for an additional peer support during your adjustment to life as an LGBTQ+ student at UNI. Our program is open to students who are first year students, transfer students, or returning students who are seeking additional peer support after coming out, transitioning, or other times of change. Mentees will benefit from:

  • Direct peer support from a student who has had at least one year of experience at UNI within the LGBTQ+ community

  • Weekly meetings focused on your transition to UNI and setting you up for success in your social life, academic career, and general wellbeing

  • Connections with other incoming students to start forming peer supports and friendships

  • Support from the LGBT* Center staff

For more information about the mentoring program, please visit this page or contact us at lgbt@uni.edu. If you are interested in participating in this program and receiving a mentor, please fill out the application below. If you are looking for the Mentor application, please visit this page.
