Gender & Sexuality Services

COVID-19 Information - Virtual Services

Multicolored border with the message: Gender & Sexuality Services. We are here to support you! lgbt@uni.edu | @unilgbtq | DM us for a Discord link

While our office is physically open when the Maucker Union is open, Gender & Sexuality Services is primarily providing virtual services at this time. We ask that our community members visit prepare.uni.edu for the most up to date information, as well as tips for keeping yourself and your loved ones safe. Our community has shown great strength through this time of uncertainty and we are incredibly proud of how our community members have stepped up to support one another. While we may be practicing social distance, we are always here for you. Please don't hesitate to let us know how you are doing and what you need.

For Students
Individual Support
Our LGBTQ+ students need support during this time period as they have additional stressors in this time period including potentially going home to a non-inclusive environment, having to stay in Cedar Falls due to family rejection, and feeling socially isolated from their LGBTQ+ peers. GSS is committed to providing a sense of community for our students.
If you are an LGBTQ+ student in need of support or connection to resources, please connect with our office at lgbt@uni.edu or through direct message on any of our social media accounts.

Virtual GSS
Invite links to virtual office hours and events will be provided by request at lgbt@uni.edu or by direct message on social media. Please note that these Zoom meetings are intended for UNI students. If you are a staff, faculty, or community members seeking support, please e-mail lgbt@uni.edu directly.

We strongly encourage our LGBTQ+ students to join our virtual community on Discord by DMing or e-mailing us for an invite link. Discord is a text and voice chat available on a desktop browser or as an app at discordapp.com. Our moderators can help you learn how to use it if needed!
